Overview

Statistical analysis of fMRI using wavelets: Big Data, denoising, large‐p‐small‐n matrices
Published Online: May 17 2019
DOI: 10.1002/wics.1467
Wavelets analysis of functional Magnet Resonance Images allows researches to analyze neuron activity on a vowel level and sheds light on brain diseases. General theory and methodology are explained using an example of neural plasticity.

Multiple and multiway correspondence analysis
Published Online: Apr 08 2019
DOI: 10.1002/wics.1464
We briefly explore the various ways in which the association between the variables of a multiway contingency table can be visualized using correspondence analysis

Focus Article

Computation of exact probabilities associated with overlapping pattern occurrences
Published Online: Jul 05 2019
DOI: 10.1002/wics.1477
This article focuses on methodology for computing exact distributions of pattern statistics associated with overlapping pattern occurrences. The methods include a way to obtain a minimal auxiliary Markov chain for computation, and to compute distributions in sequences following a sparse Markov model.
