Role of frameshift ubiquitin B protein in Alzheimer's disease

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia and is characterized by accumulation of damaged, misfolded and aggregated proteins. The accumulation of mutant ubiquitin (UBB+1) in an age‐dependent manner may mediate proteasome dysfunction and contribute to AD etiology.
